Digital Consulting
An outside read on the technical decision you are about to commit to.
Tell us what the work has to do and we will scope it — including whether this is the discipline you actually need.
Request a quoteSome of the most valuable work we do produces no software at all.
A company is about to spend a year rebuilding a platform that mostly works. An investor needs to know whether the codebase they are buying is an asset or a liability. A team is choosing between three vendors and each proposal sounds equally plausible.
Independent by construction
We bill consulting separately from delivery so the advice is not quietly attached to a build contract. It means we can tell you the rewrite is a mistake, or that the cheapest vendor is the right one, without an incentive pulling the other way.
Due diligence
For acquisitions and investments we assess the codebase, the architecture, the security posture, the dependency and licence exposure, and how much of the system lives in one person’s head. The output is a risk register with severity and remediation cost — written so that a non-technical committee can act on it.
Build, buy or stop
For internal decisions we cost the realistic options side by side, including the one nobody put on the agenda: doing nothing, and what that costs over two years.
The answer is often less exciting than the plan that prompted the question. It is also usually cheaper.
Questions
Frequently the recommendation is to buy something, keep what you have, or not build at all. Consulting is billed separately from delivery precisely so that the advice can be inconvenient. If we do think we are the right build partner, we will say so and you can go and get a second quote.
Code quality and test coverage, architecture and scaling limits, security posture, dependency and licence risk, key-person risk, and the realistic cost of the next twelve months. Written for an investment committee, not for engineers.
A due diligence engagement usually starts within a week and takes two to three. Deal timelines are tight and we plan for that.
Tell us what is not working.
A quote takes about five minutes to request and we reply within two working days — with a real assessment, not a brochure.
